Florissant Museum

Here's one you can drive right up to and see the quality of work that we do. Located on County Rd 1 just 100 yards south off Hwy 24.

This building was in desperate need of our attention. It is a cedar sided structure that was badly sunburned.

We sprayed on a foaming stripper, let it work for several minutes, then hot-pressured washed it at 180 degrees.

We washed it down to new wood. In most cases, on badly damaged homes, this is what we do. Some homes are easier than others. But proper surface preparation is vital to doing a good job. We spend about 65% of our time on ‘surface prep'.

The directors of the museum choose Timber Pro UV's ‘light Oregon Cedar' for their color on the horizontal cedar and ‘Heart Redwood' on the lower wainscoting paneling.

The finish was generously applied and ‘back-brushed' in. There were 3 coats of color applied and then followed by 1 coat of ‘clear' to lock in the color.

Maintenance in the future will include annual washing and re-application of a ‘clear coat' in 4 or 5 years.
